| Topografie Wereld is a Dutch educational game designed in the 1980s to help primary school children learn world geography, based on a mid-80s map that still includes countries like the Soviet Union. There are three gameplay modes: In “Opzoeken” (Look Up), you enter a location and the game shows it on the map. In “Overhoring” (Quiz), you must name the locations pointed out by the computer within a time limit. In “Helikopterspel” (The Helicopter Game), you pilot a helicopter and must fly around the world map to find specific locations. They only become visible when you're close enough. Each correct find earns you points, and high scores reward you with extra time and harder-to-find places in the next level. A classic yet effective game for learning global geography. |
