Backgammon is a translation of the board game to the Odyssey². The object of the game is to move all checkers off the board. The first player to do so wins. For technical reasons the board is drawn with parallel lines instead of triangles. Points are scored in the following way: a straight win is awarded with 1 point. A "gammon" is awarded with 2 points and a "backgammon" with 2 points. Players can challenge the opponent for doubling and redoubling the amount of points won. The game can be played using the electronic dice in game or using hand dice. The following variants are available:

1. Match Backgammon for two players (with pip counter) (Press 0): two players select the number of points over which the match will be played. This variation includes a pip counter: it displays the number of pips that have to be rolled for either player to complete the game and get all his checkers off the board.

2. Match Backgammon for two players (without pip counter) (Press 1): this variation is identical to the previous one, but without the pip counter, which can be reactivated at any time by pressing "0" and deactivated again by pressing "1".

3. Competitive Backgammon for two players (with pip counter) (Press 2): in this variation, instead of playing towards a predetermined match target, the computer gives a balance between both players and the points they have scored.

4. Competitive Backgammon for two players (without pip counter) (Press 3).

5. Match Backgammon for one player, playing against the computer (with pip counter) (Press 4).

6. Match Backgammon for one player, playing against the computer (without pip counter) (Press 5).

7. Competitive Backgammon for one player, playing against the computer (with pip counter) (Press 6).

8. Competitive Backgammon for one player, playing against the computer (without pip counter) (Press 7).

9. "Dutch" Backgammon (Press 1 to 7 + "_"): in this variety is also known as "Russian Backgammon" the checkers start on the bar and have to be brought onto the board, the same as with re-entering.

There is also a demo mode available(selected by pressing 6 or 7 + NO).
