The Bard is a cynical and opportunistic musician who travels the country in search of carnal pleasures. He is forced to accept the greatest quest of his life: to rescue Princess Caleigh from a demonic cult that has kidnapped her. The unlikely hero must then travel the country, accompanied by the omnipresent Narrator who takes every opportunity to mock the bard. In addition, Fionnaoch, the princess' kidnapper, sends his henchmen after him.
The Bard's Tale is an action role-playing game that is more of a fantasy vision of role-playing games than a remake of the classic series. As a bard, players can fight hordes of enemies with a blade or a bow, and summon companions through the bard's magical songs. Levelling up allows the player to improve the character's main attributes and to invest specialisation points in the different types of weapons he can use. |
