VB Mario Land, also known as Mario Adventure, is a canceled Mario game that was originally going to be released for the Virtual Boy. A single-level playable demo was unveiled at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show 1995 in Las Vegas.
The game was to be a two-dimensional side-scrolling game that would also use three-dimensional perspectives, such moving between the background and foreground of the level. It would star Mario as the main character, using classic Super Mario Bros.-style elements such as Warp Pipes, Koopa Troopas and ? Blocks. Although VB Mario Land's story was not revealed, a large Wario-like figure which functioned similar to a Thwomp was seen in the playable demo. In certain areas, an overhead view was displayed, much like the The Legend of Zelda series of games. The first level ends at the Goal Pole, and Mario can be seen entering a Castle.
A three-dimensional version of Mario Bros. was mentioned to be implemented into VB Mario Land as a minigame, though this was later released as a separate game titled Mario Clash.
