| "Annals of Rome" begins in 273 BC and places the player in the role of a Roman senator with the goal of colonizing as much of the known world as possible and maintaining power against Carthaginians, Vandals, Parthians, Persians, and other major powers. A strong army is at the player's disposal, and generals can be directed to invade specific territories. The game is turn-based and progresses through phases, starting with economic decisions and tax revenue management. Officers may rebel and trigger civil wars – though with the right measures, this can usually be prevented. |
