| Derby Day lets you and up to three other players hit the virtual racetrack, betting your money on the outcome of seven races hosted by bookie Jolly Jack. Before the action begins you choose the type of odds – Fun (up to 15/1), Serious (up to 7/1), or Dead Serious (from 99/1 to 1/99) – and whether to bet in Pounds or Pence, with Pence allowing one player to act as a real-life bookie collecting cash from the others. Each player starts with £100 and is shown four horses with names and odds for the first race. Players place their bets one after another, with the chance to change a wrong choice. The race plays out in a side-view with smooth scrolling, ending with a photo finish to decide the result. The winner pays full odds, second place pays a quarter. After payouts, the horses for the next race appear, and play continues until the richest player remains – anyone losing all their money is out. |
