TV commercial from another systemPac-man - Atari 5200 version shown because a Microsoft Xbox 360 commercial is unavailable. |
One of the most popular and influential games of the 1980s, Pac-Man plays a little yellow dot mutter who works its way through a maze to rid it of the various dots and fruits that live on the board.
Pac-Man's goal is constantly challenged by four ghosts: the shy blue ghost Bashful ("Inky"), the chasing red ghost Shadow ("Blinky"), the quick pink ghost Speedy ("Pinky"), and the forgetful orange ghost Pokey ( "Clyde"). Touching one of these ghosts means the loss of a life for Pac-Man.
Pac-Man can turn the tables on his pursuers by eating one of the four power pills around the labyrinth. During this time the ghosts will turn blue and Pac-Man can eat them for bonus points. This will only last for a limited time as the ghosts' eyes float back to their center box and regenerate to pursue Pac-Man again. |
