El Bandito is a unique game, in which one (or two, and simultaneously) players play
ants, trying to bring food to their 'houses' in the middle of the screen. Obstacles for the
player(s): spiders that patrol around, trying to kill you, and the fact that you only move at a very
slow speed while carrying food (you can drop it at any time). The only problem is, with two players,
is that the 2nd player can 'steal' the food the first player has dropped, and take it to
their own home base. This game is definitely more fun with two players.

Like a few other games that author David Crandall originally released with Creative Computing Software, once Creative Computing shut down their software division (Ziff Davis didn't want them competing with their own advertisers), the game was re-released the following year under a different name, El Bandito from Mark Data Products. Some graphics were slightly updated as well, as you can see in the above game screenshots (mainly the score area, and your opponents look different).

NOTE: Computer Island sold this game under it's original name of Picnic along with Trickashay starting in the July 1983 issue of Rainbow for $11.95 for both. They were both listed as being "previously unreleased by Creative Computing".
