The Kingdom of Baron dispatched the Redwing, the kingdom's fleet of airships, to attack surrounding lands. Tormented by his mission, Cecil, a dark knight and captain of the Redwing, decides to fight the tyrannical Baron with his trusted friend and the woman he loves. On his quest for the crystals, Cecil must travel overland, underground, to the land of the Summonables and even to the moon. Team up with Kain the Dragoon, Rosa the White Mage, Rydia the Summoner and many other talented fighters.
FF IV is the first title to feature the dynamic "Active Time Battle" system, in which time continues to run even during battle, putting players under pressure to act. Thanks to its popularity, the system has been incorporated into many subsequent titles in the series. |
