Heroes of the Pacific is a flying arcade game set in the Pacific during the Second World War. Heroes has several game modes: campaign mode, mission mode, historical missions, multiplayer mode, etc.
In campaign mode, players take on the role of William Crowe, a young pilot who survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor but lost his brother. Crowe vows to avenge his brother's death, chasing the squadron responsible through the major battles of the Pacific. The game follows the player's quest from Pearl Harbor to Iwo Jima, via Wake Island, the Marshall Islands, the Coral Sea, Midway, Guadalcanal, the Gilbert Islands, the Marianas and the Philippines.
As players progress through the campaigns, they gain new aircraft. At the start of the game, players have only the most basic fighters, such as the Warhawk and Wildcat. |
